Second National Communication of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change is presented in accordance with the Articles 4.1 and 12.1 of the Convention. The National Communication is developed in compliance with the Guidelines for Non-Annex I Parties under UNFCCC (2003).
Background and rationale:
This Second National Communication report is prepared in fulfillment of Uzbekistan’s reporting commitments under the UNFCCC’s articles 12.1 and 4.1. The work towards the completion of this report was undertaken within the framework of the GEF funded Project “Uzbekistan: Preparation of the Second National Communication under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)”. The project benefited immensely from the technical and managerial support from with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The role of the NCSP/GEF/UNDP/UNEP and the UNFCCC secretariat in project completion is kindly acknowledged. The project was executed by the Centre of Hydrometeorological Service under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzhydromet) with Prof. V.Chub, General Director of Uzhydromet, as the Project Coordinator and Dr. T. Ososkova as the national project coordinator.
